Yau Fic Chapter 5

As the hours go by Clarissa sits on Lee Yau's words, thoughts coming and going in her mind. After some time she hears rustling in the men's locker room again and determined to not have anymore unexpected encounters she briskly gets up and leaves to change. Filled with new energy  she decides to conquer her farm, she heads home and immediately starts chopping and hacking down all the weeds and trees. Soon a wide clean clearing sits before her and a smile breaks out on her face. (I guess the next thing I'd need to do is plant some crops.... I better go buy some seeds.) She heads back into town as the sun goes down. Pushing open the door she is immediately greeted with the smell of tobacco. A light haze covers the room and a woman with dark red eyes, white hair, and fox ears and tail stands behind the counter. "Ho ho ho. My my, such a sight. I haven't seen you here in quite some time." Foxy piped, gracefully taking her tobacco pipe out of her mouth. "I need some seeds." Clarissa replies. "Seeds? Now isnt that interesting? I have a few, though I dont know what you would want them for in a big city..." She smirks widely and knowingly. "Nothing for sure, just want to try my hand at something new." Clarissa replies nonchalantly, she knew enough about Foxy to know not to give away her hand or show any of her cards before she was good and ready. "Hmm well then Ill sell you these beginner seeds for cheap. If you decide to work and hone your skills Ill acquire some different varieties, for a cost of course~" Foxy replies and she hands over the bags of seeds. Clarissa nods and passes her the money before walking out. Once outside Clarissa shivers, (brrrrr ah man that place always gives me the creeps. I dont know how anyone can stand to go into that demon's shop!!!!! If there was any other place for me to buy these Id literally go anywhere else. It's a small wonder that Fay and May have grown up there and came out so well. Well I guess that also depends on how you define 'well'. May is down right scary when you mess up homework, even Lee Yau feared her and we were all classmates! And Fay.... oh that poor girl, she's more interested in animals than people... I almost wonder if she even has a single friend.) She goes home and plants her newly bought seeds before going to bed.

The next day the Mayor stops by, he praises Clarissa for her hard work on the farm and gives her the blueprints to make scarecrows and sprinklers. She takes the day to craft items, water her crops, and fish. A few days go by of her stocking up supplies, selling her crops and fish at the marketplace, buying seeds, and growing more crops. A week goes by and she's barely talked to anyone but Foxy and the Mayor who both ask her to fulfill various requests. One morning she was heading out her door and noticed Lulu making her way up the steps, "Hey! I heard a rumor that you were going to stay on the farm afterall. If you've decided to stay then make a note to tell people you're sticking around! And stop being such a loner, you are going to make the people around town sad if you do nothing but stick to yourself!" Lulu didn't even wait for Clarissa to respond, she just turned around and headed back into town. (Huh, I guess I probably should do that.... fine Ill take a break from work and visit everyone. Maybe Ill take some crops too, it would be some good marketing.) She thought as she filled her pack with garlic and onions. She heads into town, stopping first at the Red Cottage. (Maybe this should be the last stop I make..... well I guess I am already here...) She knocks a few times but there is no answer, (Everyone always keeps their doors unlocked during the day, unless they're still sleeping... Ill just peek in.) She turns the knob and walks inside. "Hello? Justin? Jim?" She hears no response except loud snoring from the next room. (Wow he is loud. Bet he drank himself into a stupor and passed out. I wonder how many he drank this time.) She thought as she head over to the fridge to count the bottles. A bottle cap with a red crown catches her eye and she grabs the empty bottle it sits on top of. "HEY!!!!! THAT'S MY BOTTLE!!!!!" A little boy screams out behind her. She turns around startled, and Justin puffs at her before angrily running right past his dad out of the house. "Umm Im sorry, I just noticed this cool bottle cap and wanted to take a closer look. I didn't mean to upset him." She says as she stands up and shows the bottle and the cap to Jim. "Ah no worries. He's been collecting those lately for the little girl that lives on the beach. I suggest you take it and give it back to him personally." He replies sleepily before yawning and going back to bed. (Well ok then... what an odd household.) She thought as she walked outside. (Whelp since I have to walk past it anyway, might as well stop at the Clinic.) Clarissa walks into the Clinic, half worried that Lee Yau would be at the front desk. It was Lee Wah that greeted her, "Hello, what brings you in today? Needing some health or skill potions?" She looks around and sighs in relief, (no Lee Yau) "No I just stopped by to check in and let you know that Ive decided to stay in town for now and work the farm. I bought in an onion as a free good will gift. Here." She says as she hands him the onion. "Why thank you, Ill ask Ching to make something with it tonight. If you're out and about and happen to come across any yams or any medicinal herbs please let me know. Im always in need of them and will pay you for any you bring in." He replies. "Oh thank you! I will keep an eye out for sure!" Clarissa responds. A little old lady peers out from behind her doorway and starts walking towards Clarissa with a smile, "Good morning dear! I was just doing some knitting. If you are looking for Yau, he is teaching at the school today!" She beams. "Ah! Um well I guess I will head there next then." Clarissa sheepily says. Ching looks at her well pleased as Clarissa heads out the door. (Oh mannnn.... now I have to head over there...) She thought as she dragged her feet reluctantly. Lulu was already out practicing the dance routine. (Wow, it's only 7:30am and she's already starting? That's

dedication. Well Ive already talked to her today so I can just skip right on by her.) Clarissa thought as she walked by her, only glancing at the bulletin board before walking up to the school. "Good morning!!!!!" An enthusiastic woman cries out. (Oh my gorsh it is too early for all that pep, like seriously I need some coffee or something before I start the day with that!) "Good morning May. How are you?" She replied extra politely. "Amazing! It's a brand new day and there is tons to learn!!! Lee Yau is having a lecture at 10am you should stop by later and listen!" May says brightly. (Annnnnnd that right there is the last thing I want to do this fiiiinne Wednesday morning.) "Sure! I have to make some rounds to make but if I have time I'll make sure to stop by!" (And Ill make sure to not have anytime....) She gritted with pretentious happiness. She paused for a moment, "Wait so is no one in yet?" May smiled, "Nope! The children should be here soon and the Principal comes in a little later." (Weird, well I guess if his lecture starts at 10am this would be a little early.) "Well alright! Im going to head out then, Ive just been stopping by to say hello to people and let everyone know Ive decided to stay for a while." Clarissa responded as she turned around and walked towards the Principal's house. May waved behind her, "Bye!!!!! Glad to hear that you are staying!!!!" Upon entering the Principal's house the first thing that catches Clarissa's attention is the mouth watering aroma of roasted vegetables and steak. (Yum!!!! Oh man Elly always makes the best food!!!! Those kids are so lucky!!!!) Clarissa thought as she wipes the drool off her face. The Principal sits on the couch reading a newspaper while Elly works away in the kitchen. "Good morning Principal." Clarissa says as the Principal lowers his newspaper. "Clarissa it is good to see you, I heard you will be staying around for a while and have really done well with fixing up the farm. I have a few odds and ends that I could use some help with if you have the time." He says smiling politely. "Sure, Id be happy to help out." She replies while taking out a notepad and writing down his requests. Once he's done she walks over to the kitchen and takes a peek over Elly's shoulder. Red peppers, Carrots, and Sliced Steak are sizzling in the frying pan. (Woah... that looks so tasty!!! She is the perfect housewife!!!!)  Clarissa thought while salivating. "Um Elly, if you want I brought some fresh garlic. Would you like some?" She asked. "That sounds lovely~ thank you." Elly replies. Clarissa hands her the garlic and she immediately chops up a clove and adds it to the stir fry. A waft of delacitbility fills the room. (Oh man I need to get out of here before I get fat just off the smell, like for real.) "Alright Im headed out! Have fun!" She yells back as she walks out the door. (Next is the barber shop.... well this should be interesting...) Clarissa walks into the barber shop, Sherry sits at the front desk filing her nails and stops to look up with a well hidden but definitely forced smile. "Hello! We have a sale on hair color change today, what would you like to have done?" She pipes. Clarissa gives an awkward smile back, "um actually I just came to say hello and let you kn-" Sherry frowns and cuts her off, "If you want to chat you'll have to pay me." (You've got to be kidding me. Fudge that.) Without a word Clarissa turns around and walks out the door. (Man what is the problem with people here?! Ugh and I dont even want to get into THAT.) She shivers as she walks by the grocery store. (I wont bother going to the Trump's, Adam will just try to pressure me to sell the Manor to him anyways and Andy's isnt open until 2pm. Guess Ill head over to Uncle David's. Jessie is sweet but her mother is a bit stuck up so I prefer to wait until Jessie is outside to let her know.) Clarissa crossed the bridges but stopped at the crossroads right before David's house. (Oh right I forgot that Lee Yeung moved out here... huh I guess I might as well stop by and check out his new place. I heard he made the place out of a shipping container all by himself.) She thought as she turns right and heads down the path. There are various electronics in Lee Yeung's yard but the most noticeable one was the massive Bumblebee Transformer. (Woahhhhh!!!!! That's awesome!!!! Man maybe I should have stopped by sooner!!!!) She thought as she knocks on the door, no one answers but she hears chatting inside and one of the voices seems to be getting louder. Slowly she opened the door, "Yau wait you gotta see this you just have to push this button and-" Immediately Lee Yau runs to the door and grabs Clarissa against his chest tightly. "Whaa-?" BOOOOM!!!!!!! (WHAT IN THE FUDGE IS GOING ON IN HERE?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!) She screams in her mind as something explodes in the background. Lee Yau pulls her outside, "Are you brain dead?! Do you have a death wish or something?! Don't just walk in here without checking if it is safe!!!!" Clarissa is too shocked to speak or move, she stands paralyzed in front of him. He sighs, pulling her back against his chest and rubbing her back gently. He coos in her ear lightly, "You're okay, you haven't been harmed. It was a loud noise but you are safe." After a few more reassurances Clarissa stops trembling, she hadn't even noticed how frightened she was. She snuggles her head into his warm chest, wrapping her arms around his back and deeply inhaling the aroma of spices lingering on his shirt. She didn't really realize what she was doing, she just felt warm and safe and she liked it. "...." Time ticked by slowly as she snuggled into his embrace, Lee Yau was at a loss of what to do, a blush was clearly defined on his face as he continued to just hold the petite woman in front of him. "....." "Mmmm you smell so good..... Mmmmm....." Clarissa uttered sweetly. It had been years since the last time she had been held like this, memories of her jumping into her Grandpa's  big warm arms flooding her mind. "............." Lee Yau's face went completely crimson from top to bottom and all the way to the tips of his ears. They were there a good solid 10min, Clarissa lost in memories and Lee Yau too confused to even say a word. "Hmm...? Your heart is pounding so loud and fast." Clarissa's hand moves from Lee Yau's back and lightly travels across his body until it is on his heart. "I love this sound~ it's so soothing~♡" At that Lee Yau hits his breaking point, he roughly pushes her off his chest and crouches low to the ground with one hand on his heart and the other on the ground to center him, his head hanging down to hide his face. Clarissa blinks slowly at him, it took a minute to register what just happened but once it set in she was just as red as he was. "Im sorry! I don't know why I did that, I was just thinking about my Grandpa and I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing!!!!" She cries loudly. "Just... just give me a minute." Lee Yau responds quietly. She crouches down beside him, trying to look at his face to see how mad he is. He turns his face the other way and she leans in trying to get a better look. Then she loses her balance and falls right on top of him. "Wah!!" "Oww!! Tch tch tch! Man why am I always getting hurt around you?!" He exclaims angry, putting a hand on his head before glaring at her. Her big bright green eyes stare back at him, and his eyes open wide, his pupils dilating at the sight before him. Clarissa is pressed against his chest and her face is right in front of his. Confusion appears on both of their faces but neither of them move, both fixated on each other and examining one another. Lee Yau swallows in awkwardness,  his hands moving to her waist. Her body stiffens at his sudden movement but they both are still staring intently at one another. This is as close as either one of them had been to a member of the opposite sex, it was both thrilling and awkward yet enticing and confusing. Their faces draw closer, the tip of their noses touching and their eyes starting to close. "......What are you two doing?" Lee Yeung asks while standing in the doorway theyre blocking. They both scramble to their feet and Lee Yau clears his throat, "Clarissa fell over I was just helping her up." Lee Yeung raises an eyebrow at them, "And that requires mouth to mouth?" Both of them turn bright red. "I-i-it wasn't like that! I just noticed something on his face and was about to help him wipe it off!!!!" Clarissa stammered. Lee Yeung chuckled, "What with your tongue?" They both gape back at him, speechless. Then Clarissa decides to pick up Peppe and just run home. "Ah-! Ughhh! Yeung did you have to put it like that?" Lee Yau grumbles, placing a hand over his face while his brother shrugs and walks back inside.
