Yau Fic Chapter 6

Two weeks went by, Clarissa mostly stayed on her farm and anytime she ventured out and came across Lee Yau she promptly turned in the other direction and quickly walked off pretending to not have seen him at all. Lee Yau on the other hand was visibly more irritated at work, griping at people more than normal. After repeatedly gabbing a quivering, yelping Andy with a needle and missing Andy's vein Lee Yau had enough and frankly so did Lee Wah who kicked him out of Clinic promptly. He marched right over to Clarissa's farm.

Clarissa was on her bed, she had still forgotten to give Peach back her book and the bottle that she "stole" from Justin. She thumbed through the book absentmindedly until she came across this sentence: "No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to bear it." Clarissa snorts, (Ya He provided a way out alright, the most embarrassing one possible). She thinks back to her previous encounter and traces her lips with her fingers. (What was that? I dont even like that stuffy, egomaniac! Temporary insanity, it must have been!) A knock is heard at the door, "Hai hai. Coming!" She opens the door and upon seeing Lee Yau immediately tries to slam it closed but she is too late, he already has an arm in the door. "What do you want?!" she yells and he pushes his way through the door. "Look you-!" He starts to reply but suddenly stops and looks away. "Just spit it out!" Clarissa huffs. "I- Enggg...." He blushes and peeks back over at her before looking away again. "Do you think you could put on some clothes first....?" He whispers. "What? Oh!" Clarissa realizes she's dressed in a thin, short cut night gown that exposes the majority of her skin and hurries to grab clothes while Lee Yau walks into the kitchen. Fully dressed, she walks into the kitchen moments later. "What do you want?" He turns around and looks at her then sighs, "Look you are starting to hinder my work and I can't have that. This needs to be remedied." She eyes him carefully, "Well IVE been shut in my room so I dont know what you are talking about and any problem YOU have a work is your problem, not mine." She replies coolly. He glares at her and backs her against the fridge, both of his hands up on either side of her so that she can't walk away. "Im not interested in you. I have no desire to be with you, or anyone else. All I care about is my work." He says icily. "That makes two of us." She clicks impatiently. Lee Yau searches her eyes trying to understand what's going through her thoughts but she wears a mean poker face and he gets nothing. "Hmph, if you have no interest then stop acting like a hermit. My Mom has been pestering me, flitting about and asking a multitude of questions. Apparently Yeung told her something happened but didn't say what and your behavior is making her even more suspicious. You and I can barely even be called friends let alone something more. I don't know what got into you that day but don't let it happen again!" Her eyes narrow, "What happened to me? What about you Mister wraps his hands around my waist? And what about that heart beat DOCTOR?" Lee Yau looks away, "That was merely a normal male reaction to a stimulus that was clearly out of my control. I did not expect to have a woman rubbing her face into my chest proclaiming how good I smelled!" They both turn red at this. "...." "....." "....." Awkward silence fills the room. "Fine, I will revert back to my normal treatment of you and visit tomorrow so your mother stops asking questions." She concedes. Lee Yau's arms lower, "Thank you." He makes his way towards the door and notices the book on the bed, "I didn't figure you for that type. What nonsense." Clarissa storms over and picks it up, "Peach left it here, Im just waiting to give it back!" He grunts and walks out the door. Relieved she plops back into bed and opens the book. (Nonsense? It's made plenty sense to me so far.) Then she reads: "In the same way, wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, even if some disobey the word, they may be won over without a word by the way their wives live." She slams the book shut, (why would I ever listen to a man?)
