Yau Fic Chapter 8

The next day the Mayor came to the house, he stated he had a large errand for Clarissa to run. Some noises were heard around the nearby mines and he wanted her to investigate. She agreed. Before he left he turned to her and said, "Oh! And dont forget to bring a gift to the party Friday!" He said with a wink. (Oh I almost forgot about that! Hmm looks like Im going to need to pick up potions and a gift....) She thought and she turns to Peppe, "Peppe it might be dangerous today so stay home and guard the house ok?" Meow! She hears back and he purrs against her legs. "Now now be a good boy, I don't want you to get hurt!" She picks him up, kisses his nose, and sets him down on the bed. "Bye!!"

After tending to her crops she decides to go to the Clinic for health potions. When she walks in Lee Yau is at the desk drinking coffee. "Good morning." She says. He looks up at her briefly and gives a short reply, "Morning." He looks at her hands for a moment and sighs when he sees she isn't carrying anything. "This isn't a social call, I need potions. The Mayor wants me to investigate the Mine." Clarissa states. Lee Yau practically chokes back his coffee and starts coughing, "Excuse me? He what?" She chuckles a little bit about his reaction. "I have to investigate the Mines, are you going to give me potions or what?" She says through a grin. His hands pound down on the desk, "You can't do something like that! That's ridiculous!" She looks at him surprised yet coolly, "why not? Because I'm a woman? Ive fought the monsters around here, it's not any different." His eyebrows knit together, "you don't know that! The last time anyone went into those Mines that person fell through a hole and never came back!!!!" She shrugs, "so I'll watch my feet." He scowls, "You-! Raaaaaaargh! Fine! Here take the potions, and this defense potion! You can pay me back later, just get your butt back here before nightfall!" Clarissa grinned a saluted him, "Aye Aye Captain!" He looks like he's about to yell at her some more but she promptly turns and runs out. 

Full of smiles Clarissa walks around town. (Hmm should I get a gift now or go straight to the Mines?) Right as she is turning to walk to the bridge she bumps face first into Duke. "Ah! Sorry!" She says as she pulls back. "No problem! Sorry I was spacing out a bit, what's up Clarissa?" He says with a warm smile. She shivers, (Ugh) and forces a smile. "Im just headed to the Mines, to check things out." He waves as he walks past her, "Alright! Stay safe out there! And don't forget to come back for the Hot Pot!" (Oh ya I forgot about that too.. Free Food!!!!!)

Told from the perspective of the MC in their youth (not time traveling).  A glimmer shines into the eyes of a sleeping girl by the stream. She knows she is supposed to be fixing the farm but figures any day is a good day to relax. "Sleeping again? Won't you ever learn to take better care of your Grandpa's farm?" Once outside Clarissa staggers down the pathway and halts in front of the bridge, someone with purple hair is walking towards her. She points at him, "Yoou! Yuu! Ive had nuff of yu! I suuuuuuck as a wingperson! Just go get the cheeps yurself!" Lee Yau walks into view carefully carrying eggs. Elly walks over to him and whispers in his ear. Clarissa gasps, "I dun mean that ferst!!!! You you you! You worstest! Duke ish better than yu!" She smacks the eggs out of his hands in anger and he sighs. "Elly you can go home, I will take her to the Clinic." Elly nods and heads back home. "WAIT! WAIIIIIIT!!!! UM.... ummm..... I forgot."
