Harvest Town Yau Fic

Clarissa walks back to the patient bed and sits down in a daze. (What was that? I didn't even think Lee Yau was capable of that! He is always so disinterested in people. I mean ya there was that weird moment in front of his brother's house but it's not like there was anything behind that, I could tell it was just curiosity but this.... this felt different. He.... if I had continued, would he have stopped?) She shivered for a moment. "Clarissa." (That look in his eyes... Ive never seen that before...) "Clarissa?" Just like normal Clarissa promptly wakes up at 6am. Lee Wah is shuffling down the hallway and takes a seat at the front desk. Groggily Clarissa sits up and holds her head. "Im sorry if I woke you, please get some more rest." Lee Wah says gently. "Ah you didn't wake me up, Grandpa used to wake me up at 6am sharp everyday, I just can't seem to ever sleep in. Where is Lee Yau?" She slowly asks, half dazed. "Yau is in his room, he took my shift last night. Normally he goes straight to bed after the Hot Pot. He must be tired." Lee Wah replies. "Were you here when Yau brought me in?" He shakes his head at her question, "I went back to the room to grab something, I was going to come check on you but Ching stopped me. "Clarissa! Clarissa! Lee Yau help!!!!!" Elly yells out. Lee Yau immediately turns around and runs over when he seeing Clarissa passed out on the steps. "What happened?! In a rush Lee Yau picks Clarissa up, rests her over his shoulder, grabs hold of her legs, and starts running to the Clinic as quickly as possible. He lays her on the patient bed and fumbles through the tonics before grabbing a vomit inducing one. His thumb gently pulls at her chin to open her mouth, and pours a small amount of tonic in. Duke, Chris, and Bill arrive shortly after Lee Yau left Clarissa on the steps. Chris and Bill sit down near Clarissa as Duke stops next to Foxy and starts playing in tune with Jessie on his guitar. Chris is deep in thought but Bill turns to Clarissa, "Hey are you alright? You look pretty beat up, can I get you something?" As if on cue Clarissa's stomach grumbles, hushed by the sound of music in the air. "Umm..." she hesitates, (I not a big fan of Bill. As Lee Yau and Clarissa cross the bridge near the graveyard they can see a light and hear the sound of a violin in the distance. "Hmm hmm hmmm hmm hmmmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmmmmmm" Clarissa hums with the tune of the melody, "I love Jessie's music, she plays so well. Even though she plays the same song everytime it never gets old. Everything about the Hot Pot just warms you up." Lee Yau remained silent, listening to her words and the music up ahead. Clarissa managed to avoid all the rats and hobbled back to the Clinic. It was 5:30pm when she walked inside and collapsed on the floor in front of the desk. Lee Yau quickly stood up and went to her, concern clearly shown on his face as he looked at her many scratches, cuts, and scrapes. Her hair was tustled and she was covered with dirt. He sigh heavily in aggravation but didn't say a word. He lifted her up onto the patient bed, she was too weak to protest. Immediately he went to the sink and wet a towel, the first thing he did was clean all the dirt off her. Once she was cleaned he grabbed antiseptic and dabbed it on her wounds. She winced and jerked a bit at the stinging sensation, and he softened his touch to a light pat, his eyebrows still knit together in silent frustration. Luckily none of her wounds needed stitches, she had been blessed for sure. In some areas he applied small bandaids and in others he had to wrap around bandages. When she got to the Mines she had an eerie feeling that something was watching her but nothing was there when she looked around, so she hopped down the hole anyway. Every direction she looked it was rock, rocks, rocks, and more rocks. (Whelp might as well start digging!) She thought as she took a pickaxe to the direction she assumed was north. The next day the Mayor came to the house, he stated he had a large errand for Clarissa to run. Some noises were heard around the nearby mines and he wanted her to investigate. She agreed. Before he left he turned to her and said, "Oh! And dont forget to bring a gift to the party Friday!" He said with a wink. (Oh I almost forgot about that! Hmm looks like Im going to need to pick up potions and a gift....) She thought and she turns to Peppe, "Peppe it might be dangerous today so stay home and guard the house ok?" Meow! She hears back and he purrs against her legs. "Now now be a good boy, I don't want you to get hurt!" She picks him up, kisses his nose, and sets him down on the bed. "Bye!!" The next day Clarissa chopped up some Green Carp and made some Sashimi, she ate a few and placed the rest neatly in a bento box. Peppe tried to make off with the box a few times but she quieted him down with his own snipbit of fish and put the bento in her pack. "Peppe stay home and guard the house today." He meows at her and rubs against her leg then jumps on the bed and curls up into a little ball contently. She heads out to her farm, stopping to water and tend her crops before heading over to the Clinic. "Oh good morning dear!" Ching chimes as she sees Clarissa walk through the door. Two weeks went by, Clarissa mostly stayed on her farm and anytime she ventured out and came across Lee Yau she promptly turned in the other direction and quickly walked off pretending to not have seen him at all. Lee Yau on the other hand was visibly more irritated at work, griping at people more than normal. After repeatedly gabbing a quivering, yelping Andy with a needle and missing Andy's vein Lee Yau had enough and frankly so did Lee Wah who kicked him out of Clinic promptly. He marched right over to Clarissa's farm. Clarissa was on her bed, she had still forgotten to give Peach back her book and the bottle that she "stole" from Justin. She thumbed through the book absentmindedly until she came across this sentence: "No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to bear it....

As the hours go by Clarissa sits on Lee Yau's words, thoughts coming and going in her mind. After some time she hears rustling in the men's locker room again and determined to not have anymore unexpected encounters she briskly gets up and leaves to change. Filled with new energy  she decides to conquer her farm, she heads home and immediately starts chopping and hacking down all the weeds and trees. Soon a wide clean clearing sits before her and a smile breaks out on her face. (I guess the next thing I'd need to do is plant some crops.... I better go buy some seeds.) She heads back into town as the sun goes down. Pushing open the door she is immediately greeted with the smell of tobacco. A light haze covers the room and a woman with dark red eyes, white hair, and fox ears and tail stands behind the counter. "Ho ho ho. My my, such a sight. I haven't seen you here in quite some time." 6am like clockwork Clarissa wakes up, she had always been like that, no matter how late she went to bed she always woke up at 6am. (I still cant seem to shake this habit.... Grandpa you really instilled in me to rise early to do much work. Oi... I feel barely rested. Hmm maybe Ill go to the sauna today, I could do with a little soak.) It was early evening when Peach went home. Clarissa started cleaning up the bowels, pot, and chopsticks when she noticed a small book on the floor. She thumbs through it a bit, (Peach must have forgotten this). She stops on a random page and begins to read: "Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant,  is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.  It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." (Hmph... love... She screams as she smacks him across the face. Startled he almost drops her but he quickly regains composure.  "Please refrain from violent behavior, I was just carrying you home." He lowers her legs to the ground, she tries to stand but starts to stumble. Quickly he wraps an arm around her and pulls her to his chest. "Be careful!!!! You just got out of the clinic idiot!!!" Told from the perspective of the MC in their youth (not time traveling).  A glimmer shines into the eyes of a sleeping girl by the stream. She knows she is supposed to be fixing the farm but figures any day is a good day to relax. "Sleeping again? Won't you ever learn to take better care of your Grandpa's farm?"
